about me 

I am currently an artist and educator working and living in Carbondale, IL. My own art practice focuses on the recreation of domestic objects through clay and mixed media. My work is an exploration of the push and pull of what it potentially means to be a wife, mom, and working woman.

Through my teaching practice, I like to incorporate multiple types of mediums and expose them to both contemporary and historical artists. I want to be able to allow students to use many mediums in order to create interesting and captivating pieces of art work. I am concerned with skills that can be gained and applied outside of the art classroom such as problem solving, perseverance, and critical thinking. I want my teaching practice to be concerned with creating a more holistic world view while students continually becoming better artists and people.
