Through the recreation of everyday objects, I seek to reflect and explore the duality of two possible futures.  One being domestic labor, while the other being women in the workplace and investigating if there is a world where both can exist harmoniously.   Whether it be a broom and its dustpan, vacuum pieces, or appliances, the objects are ones that are often overlooked and are intertwined in our everyday lives. I reference and recreate objects that are reminiscent of my childhood and those that I continue to use in my current day to day.  The forms come alive through gestrual movement and inflated pillowy alterations to meld in-between reality and the possibility of opposing futures. These larger than life size objects are often placed into iterations of their natural habitats to create a sense of stepping into the inbetween. While the muted color palettes on top of earthenware shift them to feel as if they exist outside of reality, and the use of mixed media pulls them back to real life.  The florals reference the femininity of domestic labor that are continually repeated from day to day.  These objects are inherent to how we go about our daily lives and my iterations of them ultimately shift the perspective of the future and how I can exist in the home and in the workplace at the same time.
